Yadkinville - Marie Riggs Myers, 84, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born Clara Marie Riggs on July 31, 1928 in Onslow County to Major Clayton Riggs and Lula Provost Riggs.
In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Preston Myers, Sr., two sisters, and one brother. Surviving are her children: son -Lee Preston Myers, Jr., daughter - Brenda Myers (David) Cline, daughter - Jennifer Myers Mitze, step son - Jim Myers; grandchildren: Anna Marie Myers, Kayla Marie Cline, Jacob Alexander Cline; sister: Virginia Tunnell; and 4 step-grandchildren, 10 great step-grandchildren, & 1 great-great step -grandchild. All of those mentioned and others whose lives have been touched by Marie will miss her open personality, endless stories, humor, and great loving capacity.
In celebration of her life, a memorial service will be held December 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hunting Creek Preserves in Harmony. In lieu of flowers, her family asks for donations made to Mountain Valley Hospice, PO Box 1267, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
