Yee Ling Chin

Yee Ling Chin was born in Toisan County, Guangdoug Province, China on November 30, 1925, and passed away peacefully on January 29, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chong L. She is survived by three children; Henry(Garbo), Larry (Rosalind), and Hazel (Robert). Three grandchildren, Chanelle, Jadon and Christen. Yee Ling is also survived by two younger sisters who will remember her as a loving big sister. Before she moved to the United States from China in 1953 to join her husband in Seattle, she taught elementary school just like her father, a well respected teacher. Obtaining an education and becoming a teacher was rare for females at that time in China. She also worked for the Toisan County government.

In Seattle, she lovingly raised her children and worked as a seamstress. She was quite talented in alteration of wedding dresses. For years she worked at Brocklind's Formal Wear where she developed a special relationship with the owners. An excellent cook, the family always looked forward to her meals especially during the holidays. Yee Ling is a longtime believer in God, and a lover of people and life. She was part of the original Bible Study Group which later formed the nucleus of the Seattle Chinese Alliance Church. She was a faithful member of the church. We will miss her but cherish our memories of her legacy.

Her funeral will be held February 6, 2015 at 11:00 am at Evergreen-Washelli, 11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kin On Community Health Care or Seattle Chinese Alliance Church.
