Aldridge, Ouida Meadows Ouilda Meadows Aldridge was born May 3, 1925, in Denton, TX and passed away October 10, 2009, in Dallas, TX. She was the daughter of Olen and Edith Meadows. Ouilda was a graduate of Denton High School and attended North Texas State University in Denton. She was married to Lt. Orville Aldridge on December 11, 1943, in a chapel on a Marine base in Quantico, VA. She and Orville had two children, son, Glenn Aldridge and daughter, Marie Annette Aldridge Sutton. She was a faithful Christian and worked for several companies including, Nardis Sportswear, Pollock Paper, The Federal Reserve Bank, and the Safeway Company office. Ouilda was a charter member of Business Women's Association and a life member of P.T.A. She was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She served as Worthy Matron and her husband served as Worthy Patron in 1955-56. Ouilda served in various capacities at her church. She taught Sunday school, worked with the Brownies, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and also worked with youth groups for over 12 years. She very much enjoyed working with children before the church was able to provide youth directors. She said the Lord paid her in ways much greater than anyone else could have. She also filled in for the church secretary while she was out on medical leave. Her darling husband was an elder in their church for over 26 years and together they devoted many hours to the Lord's work. She was also a member of the Nile - Shalam Temple #90. Ouilda had an interesting life of which she was very proud. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel with services following at 2:00 pm. Private burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park
