Gertrude Lee Helton Atwood passed peacefully from this life into the eternal presence of Jesus in the early morning hours of January 31st, after a brief illness.

She was born on April 23, 1922 in Creedmoor, Texas to Thomas Lee Helton and Beulah Mae Payton, the third of eight children. She was married to Morris Glenn Atwood on September 6, 1941, and they had four children, all boys.

She was preceded in death by her husband Morris, one son, one grandson, one great-grandson, her parents, four sisters, and two brothers.

She is survived by three sons, Marvin (Patti) of Thrall; David (Cissy) of Beaukiss; Gary (Debbie) of Hutto; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Special thanks to all of the staff at Pflugerville Care Center for the love, care, and compassion given so generously to our mother. Also to Debbie Jackson, for her special friendship and assistance to her.

Visitation will be at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be at the funeral home with committal following.
