Sgt. Burns is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Earl Kenneth Burns, Sr. of Medford, Massachusetts, and the husband of Mrs. Pauline F. Burns of 56 Linwood Street, Medford, Ma., and the father of two sons Mr. Michael E. Burns, and Mr. Timothy J. Burns, and three daughters, Miss Kathleen A. Burns, Miss Karen L. Burns, and Miss Kristine L. Burns.

Sgt. Burns enlisted with the Air Force on October 24, 1950, and last reenlisted on 10-24-1964.

Awards: Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, AF Good Conduct Medal, 4th award, AF Longevity Ribbon.
