Bill retired from Tinker Air Force Base as a civilian after 33 1/2 years as a Jet Engine Mechanic. He started on the TF-41 Engine Line. The TF-41 Powered the A-7 Corsair that performed extensive service in Vietnam. Bill spent the last and biggest part of his career as an Inspector in the Jet Engine Test Cell Facility. There he ran jet engines that powered the A-7, B-52, F-4, and the Navy F-14.
Bill was a good friend and co worker to all. I'm still sad because his retirement was too short.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Clarence Newman and his mother-in-law, Julia Ann McGlasson.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryle June Newman of the home: mother, Stella Newman of Shawnee; Two sons, Randy Newman of Bethel Acres and Ricky Newman and wife Twila of Tecumseh; five grandchildren, Kassie, Krissie and Julia Newman of Bethel Acres and Cody and Emily Newman of Tecumseh.
