The son of the late John Denton and Isabelle Dick Compton, he was born October 16, 1895 in Casey County. He was married to Hazel Semans March 12, 1924. Mr. Compton was a farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church, Science Hill.
Survivors are his wife; the following children, Clayton Cortez Compton, Louisville, William and Robert Compton, both of Cincinnati, and Mrs. Betty Purcell, Plato; two brothers, Jason Compton, Route 1, Somerset, and Elzia Compton, Danville; and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Alrichter, Nashville, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Farris-Morris-Hislope Funeral Home with the Rev. Morris Gaskin officiating. Burial in the Science Hill Cemetery.
