Died 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 1990, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 83, a native of Tally Ho Plantation, Bayou Goula and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired vice-president and director of board of ESSO Eastern. Graveside services at Greenoaks Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Robert W. Trent. Survived by two daughters, Margaret Murrell Derrick, Chester, N.J., and Frances Gwin Murrell, Baton Rouge; two sons, George Ross Murrell Jr., Lafayette, and Eugene Ellis Murrell, Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife, Amelie Ellis Murrell. Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, in charge of arrangements.
