Ida Mitchell Accoo lived a long, wonderful life dedicated to her Church; her husband, the late William H. Accoo; her daughter, Shelly A. Turner; her family and the Salem community. She was born on Feb. 27, 1924 in Pensacola, FL to the late Rev. George A. and Charlotte Mitchell. She departed this world on Tues., Jan. 27, 2015, one month short of her 91st birthday.

She graduated from Bridgeton Sr. High School and received her B.S. from Glassboro State College. She did extensive graduate work. Ida taught at the John Fenwick School and the Salem Middle School in Salem, NJ. She retired on Mar. 1, 1986 after an illustrious 40 year career. She was active in many church and civic organizations. Ida's life has been one of graciously sharing her many talents with others. She was a moral, intelligent, generous, elegant woman who served as an inspiration to her family, students, and those fortunate enough to know her.

She will be missed but has left so many beautiful memories behind that she will never be forgotten. Ida leaves to mourn her passing her devoted daughter, Shelly Turner (Shawn); her loving sister, Beatrice M. Gilbert; grandchildren-Shakira Parson, Aida Davis, and Rollin Davis; her great grandchildren-Ziyon Moore, Samiyah Moore, Aiden and Jaiden Mason, and Rollin Davis, Jr.; nephew, Michael Gilbert (Tina); niece, Marseille Gilbert (Leonard); great-nephew, Clark Dickerson (Sally); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and adopted grandchildren who called her "Mom-Mom".

Veiwing service will be held 5pm - 7pm, Fri., Feb. 6, 2015 at Mt. Hope U.M. Church, Salem, NJ. Funeral service will be held 11am, Sat., Feb. 7, 2015 at Mt. Hope U.M. Church, Broadway & Elm St., Salem, NJ. Viewing held 9am-11am. Interment: Salem Co. Veterans Cem., Pilesgrove, NJ. Arr. by BAGWELL FUNERAL HOME, Penns Grove, NJ.
