Janet was employed in the Food Service Department of Crawford Central School District for 18 years. She was a 1954 graduate of Meadville High School. Her hobbies included sewing and gardening. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family.
In addition to her husband, Paul, of 57 years, Janet is survived by three children, Brian Bean and his wife, Jenny, of Meadville, Pauline Pituch of Union City, and Roger Bean and his wife, Lisa, of Meadville; 10 grandchildren, Tiffany Bean, Richard Bean and his wife, Tiara, Miranda Bean, Brandon Bean and his wife, LeAnna, Raymond Pituch, Steven Pituch, Jacob Bean, Katelyn Bean, Janet Pituch and Elizabeth Bean; four great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Joan Smith of Meadville; two brothers, Paul Ehrgott and his wife, Audine, and Lynn Ehrgott and his wife, Ann, both of Meadville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Daniel Pituch.
Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, with Pastor Gregory Giles of St. John’s Community Church and Rev. Alice McClymonds, pastor of Pine Grove United Methodist Church, officiating.
Janet will be laid to rest in St. John’s Cemetery, Union Township.
