Donald F. Lone Wolf, 80, of Winnebago died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital of liver disease.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Winnebago Ho-Chunk Center, with John Blackhawk leading the service. Burial will be in Winnebago Cemetery. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at the center. Arrangements are under the direction of Winnebago Tribal Wake and Burial.

Donald was born Aug. 2, 1932, in Ponca City, Okla., the son of Theodore and Addy (Warner) Lone Wolf. He attended grade school at St. Augustine Indian Mission in Winnebago and high school at Marty (S.D.) Mission. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.

He married Lucy Smith in 1965 in Elk Point, S.D. Lucy died June 9, 2001, in Winnebago.

Donald was a lifelong resident of Winnebago. He was a brick and block layer and dredge operator. For 45 years, he was a truck driver for Nebraska Coast of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

He was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church and the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.
