ERNEST LEWIS
The funeral service for retired amusement company and former Eakers Cafe owner and operator Ernest Elbert Lewis of Paris will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Joe Walker Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation is planned from 4-8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Saturday.
Lewis, 84, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Born May 19, 1926, in Erin, he was a son of Charles E. and Lela Dowdy Lewis, both now deceased.
He was married on May 10, 1972, to the former Virginia Earline Eaker, who died Aug. 22, 1996.
Lewis retired as owner and operator of P&N Amusement Co. A World War II Army-Air Force veteran, he was a member of VFW, AMVETS and American Legion. He also was a member of the Moose Lodge.
He leaves three daughters: Sharon (Wilbur) Lewis of Tennessee Ridge, Pat (Richard) Courtney of Erin and Pam (Tom) McCabe of Alexandria, La.; two sons: Scott Lewis of Dickson and Randy Lewis of Clarksville; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He also was preceded in death by a son: Mitch Lewis; a sister: Lois Lewis Miller; and two brothers: Orval and Gene Lewis.
