J. Kenneth "Ken" McInerney, 82, of East Syracuse and formerly of Liverpool passed away at home on February 1, 2015 with his loving family by his side. Born in Buffalo, NY on December 15, 1932, Ken spent his early years participating in all sports, especially at St. Joseph's Collegiate HS where he graduated in 1951. He attended State Teachers College and spent four years in the United States Air Force, serving in Europe. The ultimate salesman, Ken was employed by 3M Company, Camillus Cutlery, and in retirement, CNY Golf and Golf Galaxy. An avid golfer, Ken was a past member of Cazenovia Golf Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley (Furio); five children, Karen (John) Verelley, Susan (William) Johnson, J.Kenneth, Jr., Kelly (Stephen) Vaughn, Michael (Lynn); nine grandchildren, one great-grandson; brother, Jack (Suzanne); sisters-in-law, Ruth Cervi, Jean Garvin and many nieces, nephews, and cousins all of whom brought Ken many hugs, kisses and laughs. He is greatly missed. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Maurer Funeral home Moyer Corners, 3541 State Rt. 31, Baldwinsville. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Pope John XXIII Catholic Church, 8290 Soule Rd., Liverpool. The Rite of Committal will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Mausoleum. Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
