Lord Buckley American stage performer, recording artist, monologist, hipster and comic, described as a magnificent stand up comedian. Lord Buckley's work, his very sense was that "life's most immortal truths lie in the weaving together of love and irony with affection for all married together."

Lord Buckley's unique stage persona aspects influenced figures as Robin Williams, George Harrison, Jimmy Buffet, Bob Dylan,Dizzy Gillespie, Orson Bean, Jonathan Winters, Frank Zappa, Tom Waits and Lenny Bruce. Bob Dylan in his book, said, " Lord Buckley was the hipster, the bebop preacher who defied all the rules".

At the time of his death at fifty four years old, he was married to Lady Lord Buckley a beautiful tall, blond statue of a woman, whom was a professional ballet dancer and teacher of the arts.
Their children, Lady Laurie Buckley, sons, Lords Stephen and Richard Junior.

Lord Richard Myrle Buckley died in New York City's Columbus Hospital from a stroke.
His final appearance was at the Jazz Gallery at Saint Mark's Place. His performance was halted by police with falsified information about his cabaret card application.

A hearing was held two days after his death, between Commissioner Kennedy and Stephen Buckley. Supporters included Quincey Jones, George Plumpton, and Norman Mailer.

Commission Kennedy was lead to removal of his position in 1960. And the cabaret card system was lead to abolition and abolishment by 1967.

Lord Buckley's funeral was held November 16th, 1960 at Frank Campbell's Funeral Home, he was cremated.

I am sure that he would end this memorial by saying, as he did each time he performed on stage to his audience,
" People are the True Flowers of Life, and it has been my pleasure to have temporarily strolled in your garden tonight"."

I the writer of this memorial have had the blessed fortune, to call his daughter Lady Laurie Buckley my dear friend. We met in Las Vegas Nevada over thirty years ago and worked together in the gaming industry, and became friends with a blast. Her Father left behind a great legacy, a beautiful and delightful daughter whom is very much alike her Father, that free smiling, don't let life pass you by opinion and zest for each day. And I am blessed to call her my friend.
American comic performer. He created
a character in the 1940's and 50's that was part English royalty, part hipster. It is said that Buckley's work expressed life's most immortal truths in the weaving together of love and irony and an affection for all humanity. He was an American stage performer, recording artist, monologist, and hip poet/comic. Buckley's character has been seen to foreshadow aspects of the Beat Generation, and many writers and performers of his own and later times have cited him as an influence.
