ANDREW JACKSON PAINTER, 95, one of the oldest residents of the county, died suddenly on Sunday at the home of Harold Near, Fairplay Rt. 1, with whom he had been living. He had been in poor health for some time. He continued to do some gardening up until time of his death.
He was a member of a Methodist Church in Virginia. He is survived by children, Walter C., Cabletown, WV; Harry, Martinsburg; Samuel P., Syracuse, NY; sister, Mrs. Lillian Howell, Cabletown; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Rest Haven Funeral Chapel; interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
