Services held for Robert Adams

Robert Gene Adams, 81, of Haymond, died May 2, at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Born at Mayking, he was a son of the late Orville and Roxie Kincer Adams.

He was a brother of the late Eva Buckley, Jenny Bowlsby, Elmer Adams and J. R. Adams.

He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War, and had worked in appliance repair.

He was the minister for the Mayking Church of Christ for over 35 years, and had hosted a television program where he ministered.

Surviving are his wife of forty-seven years, Rose Adams; three daughters, Robin Davis and husband Daniel of Georgetown, Ellena ‘E.’ Wright and husband Mark of Kona, and Missy Johnson and husband Mike of Wise Va.; a son, Bobby Adams and wife Jenine, of Sandy Hook; five grandchildren, Emily Davis, Bradley Davis, Aaron Adams, Cameron Adams and Chloe Wright; two sisters, Sara Gonzales of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Joyce Mann of Darden, Tenn.; five brothers, Eddie Adams of Paris Crossing, Ind., Jim Adams of Liberty, Ill., Bill Adams of Mayking, Roger Adams of Barney, Ga., and Mike Adams of River Grove, Ill.

Funeral services for Mr. Adams were held May 5 in Jenkins.

Burial was in Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking.
