James Earl Goolsby, 71, a retired construction worker, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at his home.

Services were 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the Wilcox Chapel with Bro. Stephen Evans and Bro. Bobby Roberson officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Wilcox Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Goolsby was a native of Leake County and a member of Carthage First Baptist Church. He served in the United States Air Force.

Survivors include: his wife, Sandra Goolsby of Carthage; sons, Ryan Goolsby of Darlington, SC and Josh Goolsby of Huntsville, AL; daughters, Ann Roberson of Carthage and Dana Crain of Mountain Brook, AL; parents, James and Sue Barnett of Carthage; brothers, Bobby Goolsby of Biloxi and Joseph Goolsby of Flora; half-brother, Mike Goolsby of Brandon; half-sister, Mary Ellen Robbins of Virginia; 9 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Bob Caston, Jason Roberson, Grant Roberson, Austin Roberson, Justin Jones, Chris Goolsby.
Honorary pallbearers were: Glen Horn, Clark Howell, and Luke Jones.
