On December 2, 1967, at age 16, she married Billy Ray Allen. Together they raised four children - Jason, Naomi, Ivy, and Ian. Ethel was proud of her family, her days as a champion dairy goat breeder, and reaching her goal to complete a college education. She graduated from University of Michigan where she studied Psychology and Art and was a member of the Native American Student Organization. She also received a Master's degree in Counseling from Sienna Heights University.
Ethel loved spending time with family, learning, traveling, art, music, CBS soap operas, crime show dramas, casino trips, and good food. She never let her physical limitations keep her from people and places that were important to her. She was a dynamic blend of fierceness and fragility.
Her journey included included incredible growth, achievement, and transformation from a poor child to fiery red headed business woman to a gentle and generous Grandmother. She smiled more. She loved more. She lived more in her final days.
Ethel passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014, age 62, at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She fought a brave battle, over many years, with diabetes and complications. In the end, she was victorious and peaceful as she crossed the river to meet Jesus.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Jane Bradley, an infant son Jeremy Lyn, infant grandson's Cody Heart Wiggers and Eli Michael Allen; numerous brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her life partner, Billy Ray Allen; son Jason (Kerri) Allen and grand daughter's Keana and Ellie; daughter Naomi (Paul) Marhofer and granddaughter Julia; daughter Ivy (Eugene Perry) Allen; son Ian (Helga) Allen and grandson's Christian and Wyatt and future granddaughter Ava Mae; sisters Paula (Danny) McGlothen, Emma Jean (late Jack) Miller, and Carolyn (John) Silhavy; brother's David (Sue) Bradley, Willard (Glenna) Joseph, Don (Martha) Field, Burl Bradley, and Frank (Dorothy) Bradley; brothers and sisters-in law; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special pets Niko and Hope.
