She was born November 1, 1909, daughter of John William and Nellie Marie Rasmussen Hunter in Boise, Idaho. She married Karl Marvin Rasmussen December 3, 1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 5, 1990.
She was a member and a past president of the Orem Women's Club and the California, Utah Women's Club. She was active in many civic groups. Dorothy was an active member of the LDS Church serving faithfully in many capacities throughout her life such as, Primary president, Relief Society president, Stake Relief Society counselor for 25 years.
Dorothy loved poetry and kept mentally active by learning literary works. Wherever she went she was always smiling.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. John (Jolene) Darrington of Shelly, Idaho; Mrs. Ron (Kathy) Rodda of Orem; and Mrs. Ron (Susan) Bagley of Salt Lake City. She is also survived by her only brother, President Howard W. Hunter of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of Salt Lake City; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson and two great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 13, 1994 at 12 noon in the Sharon Stake Center, 545 South 800 East in Orem. Friends may call Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the stake center. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Services under the direction of Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary of Orem.
