Donald E. Coppersmith, 81
ELIZABETHTOWN, KY. – Private Graveside services were held Friday for Donald E. Coppersmith, 81, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away Wednesday morning at the Baptist N. E. Hospital in La Grange, Ky. Mr. Coppersmith was born Feb. 21 1926 in Youngstown, a son of Elmer J. and Anna M. James Coppersmith. He was a Youngstown State University graduate and had worked for the Morton Salt Co. as a salesman. He retired after 36 years with the company in management and was a member of its Quarter Century Club. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army. His wife, the former Beatrice R. Barger, whom he married June 26, 1948, died Dec. 9, 1995. Surviving him are his daughter, Karen (Richard) Price, and a son, Donald (Pamela) Coppersmith, all of Elizabethtown. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Justin Harmon, Kelly (Tim) Hughes, and Donald Steven (Emily) Coppersmith, all of Elizabethtown; and special friend, Fatima Ali of Frankfort, Ill. Preceding him in death besides his parents and wife is a sister, Dorothy Brace.
