Obituary from The Boulder Monitor:

Virginia Olive Fulford, 88, a long time resident of Boulder, Montana, went to her Heavenly Father on February 9, 2015. She passed away peacefully in her home after a struggle with cancer.

Virginia was born at home on the Bock/Morse Ranch September 29, 1926 in Laurin, Montana to Oliver and Jessie Bock Morse. She spent the first half of her life living in the Ruby Valley near Sheridan, Montana and the second half of her life in Boulder, Montana. Virginia and her siblings went to elementary school at the Robber’s Roost School and then attended Sheridan High School. She moved to Boulder in 1967 where she obtained her nursing degree and worked at the Boulder River School and Hospital until retiring in 1991.

When WWII broke out Virginia went to California to help with the war effort and met and married her husband Mack E. Fulford who was a soldier in the U.S. Marine Corp. After he was discharged they made their home in Montana at the Bock/Morse Ranch. He preceded her in death February 15, 1974.

She was the last of her siblings and is preceded in death by sisters Nancy McDonald and Myrtle Reichle, and brothers Daniel Morse, Revilo (Joe) Morse, Calvin (Cully) Morse, and Donald Morse.

Virginia is survived by her four children: Patsy Norris, Connie Carter, Larry Fulford and his wife Susan, and Debbie Walker and her husband Gerald. She is also survived by grandchildren Lisa Norris Jimenez (Leo), Randy Norris (Alison), Jamie Norris, Tonya Norris Hauck (Travis), Wesley Carter, Teri Jo Carter, Misty Fulford, Justin Fulford (Kira), Joshua Fulford (Briar), Amanda Walker Stevens (Jake Dolezal) and many cherished great and great-great grandchildren.

She is to be buried in her family plot in Sheridan, Montana. There will be a graveside service at Sheridan Cemetery on February 14, 2015 at 1:00 per her wishes. (NOTE: Date of service changed after original posting.)

Virginia will be remembered by her children for her love and selfless generosity to her family and her L.D.S. Church. She filled up her days with her excellent cooking, sewing, gardening, and a good game of pinochle. She was one of the hardest working women any of her children ever knew and she instilled strong work ethic by example. There wasn’t a day that went by that she didn’t miss her Pomeranian fur friends (Tiki, Lady, and Muffy). She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
