At Wellington Place, on the 4th inst, Mary, the wife of Wm. Stratton.
Inscription
In memory of
GEORGE STRATTON Esq.
who after having lived in India as a
merchant with reputation and respect
for the space of 12 years returned to
spend the remainder of his days
in his native country and died at
Aberdeen 1 Jan 1797.
His family in testimony of their attachment
to a beloved and dutiful son & brother have
caused this stone to be placed on his grave.
Here also lie the remains of his brothers
JOHN & FERDINAND & their father
JOHN STRATTON who d. at Aberdeen
5 July 1802 aged 72; his dau. MARY
spouse of GEORGE MOIR Burgess of Aberdeen
d. 11 Feb. 1803 aged 32; & ELIZABETH
their dau, who d. in infancy.
ELIZABETH GRANT spouse of said JOHN STRATTON
d. 28 Feb. 1817 aged 79.
Here also lie the remains of
MARY BLACK wife of William Stratton
d. Aberdeen 4 Mar. 1842 aged 48; said
WILLIAM STRATTON d. Aberdeen 13 July 1847
aged 87.
