Death of Mrs. Ephraim Wilbur.

Another of the worthy women of the past generation has gone to her reward.

Mrs. Phebe Ann Wilbur died at her home in Hunts Hollow on Friday, September 9, aged 82 years and 6 months. She had been a resident of this town for 53 years, having come here from Academy in this county. Her maiden name was Gritman. She was born in Stanford, N. Y., married Ephraim Wilbur June 25, 1828, moved to Academy in 1835, and to Naples in 1839. So for 64 years she bad been the loyal and beloved wife of him who is left in his loneliness for a little while till he joins her again in ber brighter home. Mrs. Wilbur was the mother of twelve children, all of whom we believe grew to manhood and womanhood. Of these, three, Elizabeth St. John, Sarah C. Armstrong, and Hiram E., are dead. There remain Samuel G., of Los Angeles, Cala ; Erastus J. , of LeGrand, Oregon; Purlee, of Ovid, Michigan; John G. and Egbert, of Eu Claire, Wis.; Charles D. of Pulteney; Adella Rulison, of Lansing, Michigan; and Theron, and Ida A. Coons, of Naples. Four of these were present at her funeral: Charles, Theron, Mrs. Rulison and Mrs. Coons.

The funeral was held on Sunday at 2 p.m., at the Hunts Hollow schoolhouse, where Mrs. Wilbur had so often been during the last half-century to worship her heavenly Father. Her pastor, Rev. J, W. Sanborn, officiated. The interment was in the Hunts Hollow cemetery.

Ephraim & Phebe had 6 sons that served in the Civil War. Three sons served in Company H, 188th New York Infantry Regiment, they signed up on the 5th of September 1864 in Naples, Ontario County, New York, with notation to the township they resided in, these three were, Samuel, John and Theron, from Springwater, Livingston County, New York. Purlee signed up with the 1st Mounted Rifles, on the 8th of August 1862 in Naples, Ontario Counry, New York, with Rochester, Monroe County, New York, listed as residence. Egbert signed up with Co. K, 4th Heavy Artillery in January 1864 with Avon, Livingston County, New York, listed as residence. Hiram served from Michigan.
