"Formerly a Chief Officer on the Continental Steamers, died in Hospital on September 19th 1915 after a short illness.
Charles Fryatt entered the service as a Able Seaman, in 1873, was promoted 2nd Officer in 1887 and Chief Officer in 1889. He retired on the pension fund at the age of sixty five, on March 17th, 1906, and since his retirement has lived, with his daughter in Victoria, British Columbia, where he died." During that period he made two journeys back to England.
