Mrs. Esther Charlotte Anderson
Mrs. Esther Charlotte Anders, 73, of 193 Main st., Frewsburg, who was born in Clarendon, was pronounced dead on arrival at WCA Hospital in Jamestown at 7:33 a.m. Tuesday after being stricken ill a short time earlier at her home. She was born November 10, 1895, at Clarendon, and was married to Oscar William Anderson in Jamestonw, N.Y. on August 21, 1916. She was the daughter of Charles and Hulda Brodine Ryberg . She had resided in Frewsburg for the past 30 years, having moved there from Falconer. For two years, after coming to Frewsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson operated a restaurant there. She was for many years active in church and civic affairs in the Frewsburg area. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Jamestown, the Lael Sunday School Class and the Womens' Missionary Society.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Theodore W. Anderson, of Frewsburg, a sister, Mrs. Austin Beardsley of Kennedy, a brother, Harold Ryberg of Frewsburg, four grandchildren, Mrs. Wayne Anderson of Tonawanda, Paul T. Anderson of Frewsburg, PFC Burdette E. Anderson, stationed at Hanau, Germany, Miss Janice L. Anderson, of Kings College, Briar Cliff Manor, N. Y., and two great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Blair Funeral Home in Frewsburg Wednesday afternoon and evening, fuenral services will be held at the Bethel Baptist Church, the Rev. Alvin G. Ross, pastor, officiating.
