He was born in Darke County, Ohio; the son of Harley C. and Ida May (Juday)
He married Edith Cleo Henderson on April 13, 1918 Preble County, Ohio, whom he is buried beside. To this union, 14 known children were born: Kathleen Lucile, Evelyn Ruth, Maxine, Eugene H., Phyllis Ann, Norma, Rosanna May, Robert Waldo, Helen, Rolland, Richard, Donald Lee, Lloyd Ray, and Shirley Emrick.

Willis W. Emrick, 78, of 221 N. Main St., Eldorado, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon at Reid Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Ind.
He is survived by his widow, Edith; five sons, Gene Emrick, Dayton, Robert Emrick of Eaton, Rolland Emrick of Gratis, Richard Emrick of Eldorado and Don Emrick of Centerville; six daughters, Mrs. Maxine Baker of Arcanum, Mrs. Phyllis Swihart of Eldorado, Mrs. Norma Bishop, of Richmond, Ind., Mrs. Rosanna Owens of New Paris, Mrs. Helen Smith and Mrs. Shirley Gedding, both of West Manchester; two sisters, Mrs. May Poffenbarger, of Eldorado and Mrs. Lucille Moore of Rollansburg; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Emrick were held Monday at the Bussard Funeral home, Eldorado, with the Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Burial was in Monroe Cemetery near Eldorado.
Memorials may be made to the Monroe Township Emergency Squad.
