Rev Philip Stockton m. Catherine Cumming, Dau. of Robert and Mary (Noble) Cumming, and sister of General John Cumming, Apr. 13, 1767. She was born April 6, 1748 at Princeton.

Catherine is reported to be a woman of great personal beauty and their children remarkable for their fine physique. The Cummings are of Scotch extration and are descendended from Sir John Comyn or Cuming, better known as Red Comyn, who was the rival of Robert the Bruce in his pretensions to the throne, and who was murdered in the church of the Minorites at Dumfries.
