Irma Louise Aiton
1916-2007
Irma Louise Aiton Irma Louise Aiton of Woodstock, NB and formerly of Hartland, NB passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the age of 91 at the Central Carleton Nursing Home where she had been a resident for the past five months.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Glenna (Birmingham) Clark of Woodstock.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Harold F. Aiton in April of 2006 and her brother, Gerald Clark of Woodstock in 1997.

She was the loving mother of one son John (Linda) Aiton, and one daughter, Sandra Aiton, all of Woodstock;

Grandmother to Heather (Bryan) Landry of Peterborough, Ontario;
Joanna (John) Andow of Woodstock;
Justin Depow of Chicago;
Jeremy (Elaine) Depow of Montreal and Sarah Depow of Ottawa;

Great-grandmother to Shirley & Margaret Andow and Rose Landry.

Her niece, Karen Aiton of Fredericton, predeceased her in 1996.

Mrs. Aiton was a graduate of Woodstock High School, the Carleton County Vocational School and the Saint John School of Nursing (1934)

She was a member of the Hartland United Baptist Church and was Past Regent of the Malabeam Chapter of the IODE, Past Matron of Friendship Chapter # 7 of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Light Bearer’s Chapter WMS of Hartland and the Helen Good Mission Circle in Woodstock and for many years served on the board of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.

She was always a thoughtful and devoted correspondent and delighted keeping in touch with her family and friends through her many letters and cards.

Resting at The Britton Funeral Home 2 High Street, Hartland, NB with visitation on Sunday, September 30, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Hartland United Baptist Church with Rev. L. Cousins and Rev. G. MacKay officiating.

The committal and interment will take place at the Greenwood Cemetery, in the Aiton Family Plot.
