Palatka, FL. Mrs. Irene Elizabeth Adkins Lovelace, 84 formerly of the High Point area, died May 9, 2003 at the Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka, Florida. Mrs. Lovelace was born in Rockingham County, NC on September 12, 1918, a daughter to Tilda Sinday Wilson and Mark Davis Adkins. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Frank Lovelace; a son, Harold Lovelace; two sisters, Lila Durham and Mary Lovelace and a brother, Robert Adkins. Surviving is one daughter, Gladys Newton; three brothers, Bryant, Frank and Phil Lovelace; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 2:00 pm Monday, May 12, 2003 at Floral Garden Park Cemetery with Rev. Billy Carey officating. Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point is assisting the family.
