Graveside services for Wiley L. (Pappy) Mayo, 100, of Murfreesboro, who died April 19, 2004, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, will be noon Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Gaylon Dawson will officiate.

A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Bill and Dollie Stanley Mayo. He was preceded in death by his wife: the late Jenny Taylor Mayo; daughter Jo Beatrice Mayo Hartley; brothers Charlie Mayo, Ben Mayo, Dave Mayo, Ed Mayo and Burley Mayo; sisters Jennie Barrett, Stacey Preston and Mary Simmons. He is survived by a son, Bobby J. (Jean) Mayo of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Carolyn Faye Cole of Murfreesboro; a brother, Claude Mayo of Woodbury; a sister, Pearlie Young of Murfreesboro; grandchildren Donna (Billy) Gilliam, Vonda (David) Jeanette, Shanon (George) Lester and Bobby (Bubba) Mayo and wife Charlotte; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was retired from Central State Hospital and St. Clair Street Senior Citizens Center. He was a Baptist.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at Jennings and Ayers. 893-2422.
