Joseph Alfred Perryman, age 73, son of Charles Van and Ella Mae (Shipp) Perryman was born April 11, 1941 in Raymondville, MO and passed away on February 14, 2015 in St. Louis, MO.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law Sidney Hurley, two sisters, Olive Brannam and Jane Kirkwood, four brothers in-law, Bennie (Dean) Cooper, Lester Brannam, Tom Foutch, and Bruce Hurley; four nieces and two nephews.
Joe married Dottie Ann Coffman in August of 1962 and to this union, two daughters were born. He married Janis Marie (Hurley) on January 22, 1999.
He is survived by his wife Janis of Houston, his father-in-law Fred Hurley of Milan, IL, two daughters; Darla Spencer and her husband Paul of Raymondville; Pamela Jones and her husband Garland of Houston; a step-son, Jamie Wildhaber of Roxana, IL; a step-daughter, Jodi Wildhaber of Ferguson, MO; two grandsons, Brandon Jones of Houston and Tyler Jones of Solo; a step-grandaughter, Jada Williams, a step-grandson Grayson Wildhaber, two sisters, Betty Cooper of Houston, Patsy Foutch of Havana, IL; two brothers-in-law, Herbert Kirkwood of Houston; and Dennis Hurley of Moline, IL; his great grandchilden, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Joe grew up in the Raymondville area, attending grade school at Brown Hill and graduating from Houston High School in 1959.
Joe was saved at a young age and a member of Central Baptist Church. He had many hobbies; bowling, drawing, fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He raced stock cars during the seventies, devoting many evenings working on his and his good friend Moe Miller's car, spending time at Lester Portrey and J.D. Morton's garages, and Saturday nights racing. He also drove for Jim Hood and Larry Hurley when he gave up racing his own car. His favorite hobby was fishing and often said he was "born to fish, forced to work". His had several fishing and gigging buddies, and fished several tournaments with his Doss and Harper co-workers. He had a vast circle of friends and spent many evenings sharing time at "the corner". Also Joe was a constant optimist in his pursuit to win the lottery.
