Working as a millwright when he entered the service in World War II, Kenneth Jr. was a medical corps supply sergeant. He served at Iwo Jima and in the Western Pacific, per his 1947 letter to my father. Special thanks to Holly Johnson Marquez for family photos, and to Clarence Cassler of Des Moines for the gravestone photos.
