Everett 'Deak/Dede' Seibert served in Co. F, 4th Texas Infantry, in the Spanish-American War, but never left the U.S., according to family information. He worked as a carpenter, as did his father, and never married, but was a wonderful guy according to family story. In the early 1900s he went homesteading in the Badlands of South Dakota with his sisters Sylvia or 'Jeff' and Mary and Mary's husband, Herbert Edwards. Thanks to Holly Johnson Marquez for sharing her family photos, and to Clarence Cassler for taking photos of this family plot.
