married Mary Miller, Topeka, Jan. 27, 1896,daughter of mayor Bradford Miller. ; farmed 5 years; in livery business 8 years; with Wells Fargo Express Co. 4 years; deputy sheriff, Shawnee County 2 years; sheriff, since elected, 1902; re-elected 1904; to Topeka, 1868. Office: Court House.
