Paul was born on Feb. 11, 1936, in rural Wyoming to John Arthur (J.A.) and Paulina (Gilg) Otto. He was the youngest of seven children. Paul grew up on the family ranch near Yoder, Wyo.
He attended high school in Yoder and graduated in 1954. After graduation, he moved to Kearney to attend college in the fall. He later began working for his brother, Norman, building custom homes. Later, he started his own construction business and built many homes in the Kearney area.
On Sept. 12, 1956, he married Virginia Wood. To this union, three daughters were born: Susan Kay, Carol JoAnn and Nancy Jo. In June 1985, he married Elaine Martelle. Paul was a member of First Lutheran Church of Kearney.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan and husband Ron of Arvada, Colo., and Nancy of Omaha; special friend, Donna Day of Kearney; grandchildren, Shaun and wife Marci and Ryan and wife Jessica, all of Arvada, Kaitlin and husband Blaine of Alliance and Kyle of Boulder, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Roisin and Tadgh of Arvada and Jack of Alliance; sister, Martha of Lincoln; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Carl, Norman, Ellen, Lorraine and Nellie; daughter, Carol; and great-granddaughter, Josey.
