She was the daughter of Juan Domingo Antonio Salazar and Maria Guadalupe Gurule who were married on August 25, 1795 in San Felipe de Neri de Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Juliana married first Jose Antonio Vargas about 1825 in Taos. She married second Jose Marie Rodriguez on September 27, 1827 in Taos and had children Jose and Maria. Third, she married William Julian Pope on December 8, 1834 in Taos. The had chi;ldren Jose, Luciana, Isabella and Delavina. About 1844, Juliana married Elias Barnett in Napa, California and had children Robert, Roise, Menerva, Cynthia, Louis and John.

"Obituary. Mrs. Juliana Barnett, an old resident of this city and mother of Mrs. W. L. Rinerson, died at her home on Thursday morning, March 1, 1900. The funeral was held yesterday from the Rynerson residence to the Catholic church and cemetery in the presence of a concourse of friends.
