A plumbing contractor living at Haleyville, Winston County, Alabama, he died of acute pancreatitus/shock on January 20, 1941 at Nashville, Tennessee's Vanderbilt University Hospital where he had been for thee hours. Burial was two days later in Oak Hill Cemetery at Jasper, Alabama.
