National Ski Association Hall of Famer. Following his two older brothers from Norway to the United States in 1933, the trio helped popularize skiing in Idaho and Utah. He taught skiing in the early years of Sun Valley Resort in Ketchum, Idaho, and in 1961 he was instrumental in the development and managemant of Brundage Mountain Ski Area in McCall, Idaho. He coached the Weber State ski team in Ogden, Utah and although he didn't win any Olympic medals, he collected 22 gold medals in national competitions. He was inducted into the United States Ski Association Hall of Fame in 1973. He was also an Olympic Nordic team Captain in 1948. Died of complications from pneumonia at age 90.
