sarch alto james parnell,95 of star city, died at her home tueday,july 23,1996.born april 23,1901 in union county,she was a daughter of the late thomas newton james and mary davis james. she was a retired seamstress and baby sitter. she was a member of the yorktown free will bapist church. she was preceded in death by her husband, horace parnell and a grandson, gray parnell. survivors include a son, c.w. parnell of cut-n-shoot, texas; three daughters, mary carter of las vegas, nevada, elizabeth axe and janet nobles, both of star city; a borther, joe james of monticello; nine grand-children; 21 great-grandchildren; and 4great-great grandchildren.
