Brett was born October 10, 1959 in Montebello, CA. He grew up in Hacienda Heights, CA and then graduated from Los Altos High School in 1977. Then he attended the National Hardwood Lumber Grading School in Memphis, TN. He Moved to Cache Valley in 1981. He received his endowments in 1983 and was Elder’s Quorum President, scout master and home teacher in the Hollow Road Ward, Nibley, Utah.
He worked at Custom Manufacturing and made many dear friends there, then owned his own business in Hyrum, Utah called Milligan’s Cabinets and was an excellent craftsman and an amazing cabinet maker. He never needed to advertise, all his custom cabinet jobs came from referrals.
He married Judi (Munk) Jorgensen on June 7, 2002 in the North Promontory Mountains, west of Howell. Brett worked on and then later managed Mariner & Gwen Munk’s dry farm in Howell, raising wheat and safflower. He loved working, and always poured all of his creativity into getting a task done. He loved farming, the outdoors, fishing and camping.
Brett had a quick wit and a contagious smile. He made friends easily because of his genuine concern and love for others. He loved serving others and was always looking for opportunities to help those around him. He was well respected and loved within the community.
He is preceded in death by his dear mother, Patricia B. Milligan and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Judi (Munk) Jorgensen, 4 children; Brian E. Milligan, Travis B Milligan, Alicia M (Collin) Saltern all of Cache Valley, and Savannah E. Milligan who is currently living in Salt Lake City, 4 grandchildren, his father, Lowell E. Milligan of Hacienda Heights, CA, his sisters; Linda M. (Kenneth) Cadwallader of Dewey, AZ, Nancy M. Henderson also of Hacienda Heights, CA, and a brother, Dirk (Sally Milligan of Fresno, CA.

His grave is well maintained and his plot is just east of my parents, his mother in law and father in law. I will be laid to rest on his left side as per tradition and etiquette, so is my mom. And of course all are facing east.
