Rev. Richard Dale Emerson, 96, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015. Rev. Richard Dale Emerson He was born Feb. 28, 1918, in Oshkosh, Neb. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, in 1957, and his wife, Norma Lee, in 1987. He married Lila Carpenter of Pueblo in 1991. Richard was a minister with the Rocky Mountain District of the Assemblies of God for 73 years. He pastored four churches, including Pueblo First Assembly of God from 1951-1959, and Commerce City/ Montbello Assembly of God, 1961-1977. He also was on staff at several churches including Pueblo Christian Center. He served the RMDC as youth director, assistant superintendent, presbyter and men’s ministries director. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lila; and three children, Richard (Mary) of Phoenix, Ariz., Beverly Wead (Ray) of Ogden, Utah, and Gregg (Rhonda) of McCook, Neb.; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren. He had one stepdaughter, Melanie Pederson; and eight stepgrandchildren. Special thanks to Sangre de Cristo Hospice and Wynwood Assisted Living for their love and care. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Pueblo Christian Center. Public viewing will be held prior to the service. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, in Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens in Littleton, Colo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard’s name to the Missions Fund at Pueblo Christian Center.
