Age 80. She taught at Wooden Shoe Kindergarten and then later worked for 53 years in the same building for Kings, Zayres, Ames, and Home Goods until her retirement. Vivian was on the Thursday Morning Ladies Bowling Team at Westgate Lanes. Her membership at the Brockton Council on Aging was very important to her, enjoying their knitting group and social events. She proudly handmade afghans, hats, scarves and baby blankets, which were donated to nursing homes, hospitals, and adults and children in need. Because she always worked with the public and had a unique personality, Vivian developed many lasting friendships. She enjoyed dining out at various local restaurants, as she hated to cook. Her early years were lived in Wareham, where she developed a love for the beach that never left her. She will always be remembered for her caring nature, thoughtfulness and humor. Vivian was the devoted daughter of the late Herbert F. and Vivian E. (Brown) Gay; sister of the late Herbert Gay; godmother of Raylene Vajgrt; and a dear friend of Anna Mae Blackman for 50 years.
