In St. Pete she met Walter Edward Prince, who became her husband of 52 years.
Shirley worked first as a Secretary for the Superintendent of Schools, then for the Veteran's Administration and the Census Bureau.
Shirley enjoyed square dancing, piano playing, and sang for several years in church choirs and with the Sweet Adelines. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Good natured and kind hearted, she always had a smile and a good word. She had a spry sense of humor and a love for theater and music.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Walter. She is survived by her sister, Irene Allen of Presque Isle ME; her daughter, Debra Blaker of Eugene, OR; and two of sons, Stephen L. Prince of Kerville, TX and Edward A. Prince of Duluth, GA.; as well as four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A memorial will be held in St. Petersburg, FL the Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Walter. The interment will occur at the gravesite with family and friends.
