Vernon Clifford Gillham
CANNELTON - Vernon Clifford Gillham, age 77, of Cannelton, West Virginia, entered into rest on Thursday, July 1, 2004, in Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Hospital.
Born April 11, 1927 in Bridgeport, Ohio, he was the son of the late Isham Lafayette and Mary A. Calvert Gillham.
Mr. Gillham was retired from Cannelton Industries with 43 years of service. He was a United States Army veteran from the Korean Conflict, a member of Carbondale Baptist Church and a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
His survivors include his wife, Lelia Chaffins Gillham; a son, Clifford W. Gillham and his wife, Pam, of Prince George, Virginia; sisters, Juanita Lanham of Quick, West Virginia, and Lavana Coleman of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, David Gillham of Kingston, West Virginia; granddaughter, Kamryn Lew Gillham.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at O'Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery with Rev. Wayne Nutter officiating. Burial will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park at London.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
