Sarah Christina Gronberg was born in Dalarne, Sweden, the 10th of January, 1865. She came to Douglas county in 1879. She was confirmed by Rev. O. Lind in 1880. She was united in marriage to Daniel Westlund, Dec. 1, 1884, by Rev. J. Hedberg and they made their home in Douglas county with the exception of nine years which were spent in Portland, Oregon. Surviving are the bereaved husband and eight children, Alfred of Duluth; Mrs. Walter Landeen of Garfield; Mrs. Harry Elliott of Chicago; Lieut. Carl Westlund of Ft. Benning, Georgia; Teckla and Arthur of Minneapolis; Oscar of Portland, Ore.; and Mrs. R. T. Warren of Klamath Falls, Ore. She leaves also three sisters and two brothers, Emil Gronberg of Portland, Ore.; Charles of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Can., Mrs. John Hedberg and another sister at Portland and Mrs. Albert Oberg of Fresno, Calif. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Lake Ida Lutheran church at Garfield at 2 o'clock, Rev. O. O. Gustafson and Rev. A. Mattson officiating. Interment took place there. The pallbearers were Charles Melin, David Peterson, Charlie Olson, Olof Kohlberg, John Geisness and C. P. Anderson.
