Mrs. Sarah Ophelia Whatley Eckhoff, 95, of Moss Point, MS passed away on February 18, 2015 in Pascagoula, MS. Mrs. Eckhoff was born on April 15, 1919 in Bayou Cassate. She loved music, especially singing and dancing in the morning. She loved to cook and make jelly, also, she loved to fish.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Asa Lee Eckhoff; father, Phelan A. Whatley; mother, Mamie Ladnier Whatley; daughter, Lois Graham; grandchildren, Kathy Lundy and Terry Lankford; and great grandchildren, Amber Ophelia and Samantha Diane.

She is survived by her children Mazie (Denzil) Harrison, and Faye (Gene) Eckhoff Blake; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Sam Webb; and numerous other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm February 21, 2015 from the Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Derek Kennedy, grandson, officiating. Graveside will immediately follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Helena, MS.

Pallbearers will include: Randy Nixon, Waylon Tanner, Levi Scarbrough, Jeremy Weatherly, Josh Weatherly, and Scott Browne.

Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS is in charge of arrangements.
