He was a former resident of Eldorado and spent his entire career as a teacher and school administrator in Ohio school, moving to Florida after his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Woods Blackford, in July 1987.
Survivors include one son, John M. Blackford of Concord, N.H.; one daughter, Elizabeth K. Bilbrey of Tulsa, Okla.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Helen L. Brown of Lewisburg, Grace B. Helton of Friendship Village Medical Center, Dayton, and Martha A. Laird of Eldorado.
