Mrs. Betty Jane (Fritz) Castle, 88, passed away at 5:55 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Manor Care in Boynton Beach, Florida. She was the widow of Francis Castle, who died on December 15, 2000. Born August 23, 1926 in Cumru Twp., Berks County, PA, she was a daughter of the late William B. and Jennie W. (Gebhart) Fritz. Betty was a 1944 graduate of the former Mohnton High School. She was employed in the Accounting Department of the Armour Company in Reading, PA, from 1966 until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church in Mohnton, and the Sun Life Lutheran Church in Florida. Surviving is a son; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; a sister. She was predeceased by sisters Joyce (Fritz) Marberger and Arlene (Fritz) Essig. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, South Church Street, Mohnton, PA, with Pastor Rachael C. Dietz, officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Reading, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Saint John's Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 5, Mohnton, PA 19540. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Giles & Yeckley Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., of Mohnton, PA.
