Mr. A.W. "Simon" McGinnis, 83 of Holly Pond, passed away Sunday evening, November 30, 2014 at his daughters home surrounded by his family. Mr. McGinnis was born in Cullman County to Lonnie Benjamin and Elvie Jones McGinnis. He was predeceased by his wife, Edna Shoemaker McGinnis, son, Victor McGinnis and grandsons, Benjamin McGinnis and Jason Miller. Mr. McGinnis was a heavy equipment owner operator until the recent decline of his health. Funeral services for Mr. McGinnis will be Wednesday December 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Duck River Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. McGinnis will be Tuesday evening, December 2, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Rev. Kenneth Little and Bro. Bo Marks will be officiating.
