Luke Wayne Holland, age 28, son of Bruce and Patricia (Holder) Holland was born July 11, 1985 in Houston, MO. He passed away November 13, 2013 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO of a massive stroke. He was surrounded by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Bill and Irene Holland and James Royal Partlow.

Luke is survived by his parents, two sisters, grandparents, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Luke grew up in Bucyrus, MO and attended school at Houston and Licking, MO graduating from Licking High School in 2004. He graduated in 2006 from Mineral Area-Park Hills and in May 2010 from the College of the Ozarks with his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration/Marketing.

He was currently employed at Boyd Metals where he had just begun his career as a Corporate Metal Buyer. Through his employment he gained several friends with his business dealings from coast to coast.

Luke was very athletic and loved to hunt, fish and play basketball and baseball, but his passion was baseball, he was a very gifted and talented pitcher and played during his school years and on many traveling teams. In college he pitched for the Mineral Area Cardinals and College of the Ozarks Bobcats. He received scholarships because of his pitching abilities and that paid for his college.

He was very family oriented. He loved to play with and teach his nieces and nephews about his love for sports. Luke loved to spend time hunting and fishing with his Dad and spent many hours just visiting and talking with his Mom.

Luke touched many lives. Although his life here was short, we are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from his many, many friends and acquaintances. He will forever be missed. Luke was greatly loved and will always remain in our hearts.
